256-Sq-Ft Modern Backyard Work Studio with a Complete Bathroom

256 sq ft · None bed · 1 bath · 1 story · 21' 0" wide × 21' 0" deep · Plans from $595

This compact backyard studio suits anyone who needs a dedicated place to work from home. Its defining feature is a covered porch reached through sliding doors, with a full bathroom for added guest flexibility.

The one-story plan measures 21 by 21 feet, with 256 square feet of heated space and 2x6 exterior walls. Its contemporary design keeps the footprint compact.
Use the studio as a separate home office, with room to focus away from the main house. The plan is designed around work-from-home use.
At the back of the studio, a full bathroom includes a walk-in shower. It also gives overnight visitors a bathroom of their own.
Sliding doors open to a covered porch that is 5 feet deep and wraps around two sides, extending the studio’s usable space outdoors.
Choose a monolithic slab, slab, or crawl foundation for the build. The crawl foundation is listed as an available option.
